Getting Started:

      church library, school supply stores, yard sales, flea markets, online, relatives, AAHPERD catalog, PE equipment

      catalogs, and school supply catalogs.

Successful Strategies:

  1. A late teacher! Have a book ready to read.
  2. To start and/or end class
  3. Use reading as a jumping off point for other discussions.
  4. A late bus
  5. Physical Education/Wellness Book of the Week (poster, closed circuit TV, table)
  6. School Newsletter
  7. First few weeks of school-extreme heat, K and 1st attention span
  8. Volunteer for story time in the library
  9. After school care
  10. Highlight books in the library
  11. Use a book with your prop
  12. Use reading as a station for a Wellness Fair
  13. Use reading for scheduled Wellness Classes
  14. Use a little acting skill
