As you take a look at these four pictures they may not mean very much to you.  All four of these pictures were taken in the Hoh Rain Forest in Washington State.  It is one of only three Temperate Rain Forest in the World.  The dictionary definition of temperate is characterized by moderate temperatures, weather, or climate; neither hot nor cold.  Of course it was raining, so we purchased a poncho for $2.00 and started hiking.  What an experience!  We were able to observe some things in nature we had never seen and will probably never see again.  Look how big the ferns are!  Besides the exercise it was a great learning experience.  Include a hike or a run or a bike ride on your next vacation and just see what you can learn.
