Exercising With Friends
Most of the time I train by myself because of schedules and daylight. I find it a lot of fun to enter fitness events and runs with friends and colleagues. In the past we have participated in area runs and then celebrated by going out for breakfast. In our stage of life none of us win awards but the reward comes by doing something together as a group and cheering each other on. You might start by asking people at work, church or your neighborhood to participate with you. Ask some friends to take a kayak ride, play tennis or take a walk with a local charity. Plan you own activity if you cannot find an organized one. The pictures above are from a 20 mile kayak trip on the Chipola River in Marianna, Florida with a group of three friends of mine. What a blast! It happened last summer and we are still talking about it. We have already started planning for next summer.
