Do You Feel Disconnected? I took this picture last Saturday while kayaking in the intercoastal waterway near Pensacola Beach. The first thought that came to my mind was that the pier was disconnected from the shoreline. You would have to walk out to the pier and climb the ladder and then get in your boat. You might just be feeling like this pier. Disconnected. Maybe you haven't been exercising regulary in the last few weeks for some reason. Well, you can change that. 1. Rearrange your schedule. 2. Exercise before or after work. 3. Go to bed at a reasonable hour. 4. Take you clothes off the treadmill. 5. Use your treadmill or exercise bike. Maybe you have been reading the Wellness Tip of the Week all school year and still haven't become motivated to start an exercise program. Well, this is your time to start. 1. Start by walking for just 10 minutes in the afternoon. 2. Start by walking on your treadmill for 10 minutes in the morning. 3. Start by turning off the TV or exercise with the TV on. 4. Start by asking someone to walk with you. 5. Start by thinking, then acting. Spring is a great time of the year to get re-connected. The weather is getting warmer, if you live in the South, and daylight savings time starts next week. Two good reasons for you to get Reconnected with Physical Activity. I have found over the years that when you get outside and exercise it is like watching the Nature channel on TV. You never know what you will find. I have seen eagles, hawks, snakes, beavers, dolphins, alligators, frogs, pelicans, herons, mullet, black bears, geese, ducks, just to name a few. Here's a couple of things we saw on Saturday.
