Keeping your balance in today's world can be very challenging at times.  There are many

things that confront us in our daily lives to keep us busy and occupied.  Sometimes

easy to go by a fast food place and pick up dinner and there are always excuses not to exercise regularly.

The list can go on an on...

Here are a few tips to help you keep your balance.

1.  Move as much as you can.  Try to aim for a total of 60 minutes per day on most days.

2.  Try walking, dancing, biking and rollerblading-it all counts.

3.  Read the nutrition facts on the back of your food to get information on the fat and sugar content.

4.  Try to eat some extra fruit and cut back on the sweets.

5.  Try a Christmas picnic.

6.  Take a sack lunch for a change.

7.  Take a look at MyPyramid.gov for some valuable nutrition information.

8.  Instead of a crash course think about taking small steps toward improvement.

9.  Turn off the TV and read a book.

10. Remember, improvement takes time.  Crash courses and not effective.
